Most of us do not give the proper attention to the delicate skin around the eyes. Many of us neglect it or overlook it, not realizing
how aging and other factors can affect this area of skin. Dark circles, lines, wrinkles, puffiness and saggy skin can make us look
tired and older than we really are. We don't realize when we apply our makeup, wipe away tears with our hands or even rub our
eyes because of some foreign object under the eyelids, we are welcoming lines and wrinkles to invade this precious area. The
reason we must be careful is because the skin around the eyes is very thin and can easily become damaged. And if you already
have a few lines and wrinkles, it's never too late to start working on giving special attention to this area.
.
Before applying an eye moisturizer, make sure the area is clean and free of makeup. It would be best to use an eye makeup
remover or a cleanser that dissolves eye makeup. Most of these products are gentle and sensitive to this area’s needs. It is not a
good idea to leave eye makeup on overnight because the makeup could get in your eye causing irritation and possibly an infection.
.
Because the eye area is more delicate than the rest of our facial skin, it is important to have a moisturizer just for this area alone.
Most eye moisturizers should be used before applying makeup in the morning and before going to bed ... it really depends on the
instructions on the product. To apply, dab the moisturizer on your ring finger and gently pat the moisturizer onto the eyelid and
under your eye. Please be careful not to get the moisturizer in your eye! When dabbing the eye moisturizer on the eyelids, start
from the inside of the eye and work your way to the outer corner of the eye. When applying under the eye, start dabbing from the
outer corner of the eye and work your way toward the inner corner. Only apply what is needed to cover the eye area. There are
different forms of eye moisturizers available such as Adrian Arpels’ Bio-Cellular Night Eye Gelee and Elelastic Gel and Swiss
Formula #12 Eye Crème.
