MK:
ALPHADI, Oumou Sy for her innovation, Deola Sagoe whose work is amazing.  Yemi Osunkoya of Kosibah Creations for his
stunning bespoke, couture bridal gowns and evening wear.  Lastly, Nkensani Manganyi Nkosi of South African label, Stoned Cherrie.

MIMI:  Which African women do you consider to be fashion icons?
MK:
My mother for her elegance, Grammy award winning Angélique Kidjo for her innate afro-chic.  Harlem renaissance writer Zora
Neale Hurston and fashion designer Oumou Sy.

MIMI:  What trends do you predict for the summer of 2008?
MK:
A major trend for spring/summer 2008 is all things light.  It sees the use of sheer and semi transparent fabrics. These are
employed to make delicate, feminine designs with details such as frills and ruffles. The second is design prints influenced by nature.
Garments for this season will see an explosion of floral, fauna and animal prints.
